Looking for an Osteopath Near You?

Welcome to One&All. Your ultimate solution for targeted, evidence-based osteopathic care in proximity to Roseville. We dig deeper—treating not just symptoms but the root causes behind your health concerns.

What is an Osteopath?

Osteopathy is a hands-on therapeutic approach that addresses both the immediate symptoms and root causes of musculoskeletal issues. The musculoskeletal system includes the muscles, bones, joints, and nerves that support bodily movements.

Our osteopaths are university-trained professionals who have the expertise to identify and treat a wide range of musculoskeletal concerns. They use hands-on techniques, including soft tissue massage, joint articulation and manipulation, and manual therapy.

Our osteopaths examine the body thoroughly, focusing on structural alignment, mobility, posture, range of motion, and functional movement patterns. They understand the interconnectedness of body systems, and recognise how issues in one area impact another. As a result, they address your condition comprehensively, not only treating the site of pain, but delving deeper to resolve the underlying causes of discomfort.

Techniques an osteopath may use.

Manipulation

HVLA (high velocity, low amplitude) joint manipulation is a gentle and safe way to restore a normal range of motion and ease pain. HVLA is often accompanied by a popping or cracking sound as gas bubbles are released from the fluid within the joint.

Deep & Soft Tissue Massage

Osteopathic soft-tissue techniques are more targeted than traditional massage and focus on muscles, ligaments, tendons and fascia. Treatment may include massage, stretching, deep pressure and cupping.

Dry Needling

Dry needling uses fine filament needles to help loosen trigger points within the muscle fibres. Electro dry needling is a modified form of dry needling treatment that applies an electrical stimulation through the needle to prolong pain relief.

Dry needling can elicit a ‘local twitch response’ leading to alteration in the length and tension of muscle fibers resulting in decreased tension.

Sustained trigger points might cause localised pain. Dry needling causes vasodilation in the small blood vessels leading to increased muscle blood flow and oxygenation. This helps to alleviate pain and tension.

Muscle Energy Technique

Muscle energy techniques are a type of manual therapy used to lengthen and strengthen muscles and improve the range of motion of joints. Your osteopath will provide controlled resistance while you push against them and repeat this process several times to encourage muscle flexibility.

More Techniques

Taping & Bracing Interventions

Our osteopaths use sports tape or bracing to provide support to a joint to relieve pain, improve stability and prevent the occurrence or recurrence of an injury in a vulnerable part of your body. Both interventions can assist with acute and chronic conditions.

Myofascial Release

Fascial release is a hands-on technique that releases tension in the fascia – the connective tissue that supports and protects the body’s muscles and organs. Fascia can become tight and inflexible over time due to injury, inflammation, surgery or poor posture; releasing fascial tension eliminates pain and restores a full range of motion.

What does a treatment involve?

01. Case History

During your appointment, a thorough case history will be taken. This history will include what your current symptoms are, your practitioner will also ask you questions about your pain. Then a full medical history will be taken so that a holistic approach can be utilised. This may include any past injuries, health concerns, medications, surgeries, family history and other factors that may not appear to be directly related to your problem.

After your case history is taken, your osteopath will advise you if they can treat you or if you need to be referred to another health practitioner.

02. Assessment & Diagnosis

Next is the completion a thorough osteopathic examination. This may include but is not limited to; range of motion testing, orthopaedic testing, movement analysis, strength and stability testing and a breathing / postural assessment. Some of the tests will involve you doing some movements, while others will require the practitioner to initiate the movement for you.

This forms the foundation of your personalised treatment plan.
